About New Zealand Dollar / Japanese Yen
NZD/JPY is the exchange rate between the New Zealand dollar and the Japanese yen. The price shows how many Japanese yen one New Zealand dollar buys: when NZDJPY rises, the New Zealand dollar is strengthening against the Japanese yen; when it falls, it is weakening.
NZD/JPY is a cross pair: neither side is the US dollar, so its price reflects the balance between New Zealand and Japan directly. The New Zealand dollar reflects an economy built heavily on agricultural exports such as dairy, and it tends to move with global risk appetite. The Japanese yen has long been used as a funding currency because of Japan's low interest rates, and it often strengthens when markets turn risk-averse.
On Xellion's MT5 platform NZDJPY is traded as a CFD, so you can go long or short without exchanging either currency. One standard lot is 100,000 New Zealand dollars, and one pip is 0.01, as with other pairs quoted in yen.
