About Euro / Japanese Yen
EUR/JPY is the exchange rate between the euro and the Japanese yen. The price shows how many Japanese yen one euro buys: when EURJPY rises, the euro is strengthening against the Japanese yen; when it falls, it is weakening.
EUR/JPY is a cross pair: neither side is the US dollar, so its price reflects the balance between the euro area and Japan directly. The euro is the shared currency of the euro-area countries and is the second most widely held reserve currency. The Japanese yen has long been used as a funding currency because of Japan's low interest rates, and it often strengthens when markets turn risk-averse.
On Xellion's MT5 platform EURJPY is traded as a CFD, so you can go long or short without exchanging either currency. One standard lot is 100,000 euros, and one pip is 0.01, as with other pairs quoted in yen.

- Business surveys such as the euro-area PMIs
- Risk sentiment, as the yen is often treated as a safe haven
- Comments or action from Japanese authorities on the exchange rate
