FAQ

Frequently asked questions

When is the forex market open?

From Monday morning in Sydney to Friday evening in New York, around the clock. It is closed at weekends.

What are the main forex sessions?

Sydney (07:00–16:00 Sydney time), Tokyo (09:00–18:00 Tokyo time), London (08:00–17:00 London time) and New York (08:00–17:00 New York time).

What is the best time to trade forex?

Liquidity is usually highest when sessions overlap, especially London and New York. Tighter spreads are common then, but markets can also move fast.

Do session times change with daylight saving?

Yes. London, New York and Sydney move their clocks at different dates, so session times in your local time shift by an hour a few times a year. The clock adjusts automatically.

Do gold, indices and crypto follow the same hours?

Not exactly. Each instrument has its own trading hours and daily breaks, listed in the contract specifications in MT5.
