About US Dollar / Japanese Yen
USD/JPY is the exchange rate between the US dollar and the Japanese yen. The price shows how many Japanese yen one US dollar buys: when USDJPY rises, the US dollar is strengthening against the Japanese yen; when it falls, it is weakening.
USD/JPY is one of the major currency pairs, all of which are quoted against the US dollar and are generally among the most liquid in the market. The US dollar is the world's main reserve currency and sits on one side of most foreign-exchange trades. The Japanese yen has long been used as a funding currency because of Japan's low interest rates, and it often strengthens when markets turn risk-averse.
On Xellion's MT5 platform USDJPY is traded as a CFD, so you can go long or short without exchanging either currency. One standard lot is 100,000 US dollars, and one pip is 0.01, as with other pairs quoted in yen.
