About Australian Dollar / Japanese Yen
AUD/JPY is the exchange rate between the Australian dollar and the Japanese yen. The price shows how many Japanese yen one Australian dollar buys: when AUDJPY rises, the Australian dollar is strengthening against the Japanese yen; when it falls, it is weakening.
AUD/JPY is a cross pair: neither side is the US dollar, so its price reflects the balance between Australia and Japan directly. The Australian dollar is closely linked to commodity exports such as iron ore and to demand from China, Australia's largest trading partner. The Japanese yen has long been used as a funding currency because of Japan's low interest rates, and it often strengthens when markets turn risk-averse.
On Xellion's MT5 platform AUDJPY is traded as a CFD, so you can go long or short without exchanging either currency. One standard lot is 100,000 Australian dollars, and one pip is 0.01, as with other pairs quoted in yen.
