About Australian Dollar / Canadian Dollar
AUD/CAD is the exchange rate between the Australian dollar and the Canadian dollar. The price shows how many Canadian dollars one Australian dollar buys: when AUDCAD rises, the Australian dollar is strengthening against the Canadian dollar; when it falls, it is weakening.
AUD/CAD is a cross pair: neither side is the US dollar, so its price reflects the balance between Australia and Canada directly. The Australian dollar is closely linked to commodity exports such as iron ore and to demand from China, Australia's largest trading partner. The Canadian dollar is tied closely to oil, one of Canada's main exports, and to the US economy, its biggest trading partner.
On Xellion's MT5 platform AUDCAD is traded as a CFD, so you can go long or short without exchanging either currency. One standard lot is 100,000 Australian dollars, and one pip is 0.0001.
