About US Dollar / Canadian Dollar
USD/CAD is the exchange rate between the US dollar and the Canadian dollar. The price shows how many Canadian dollars one US dollar buys: when USDCAD rises, the US dollar is strengthening against the Canadian dollar; when it falls, it is weakening. Traders often call it "Loonie".
USD/CAD is one of the major currency pairs, all of which are quoted against the US dollar and are generally among the most liquid in the market. The US dollar is the world's main reserve currency and sits on one side of most foreign-exchange trades. The Canadian dollar is tied closely to oil, one of Canada's main exports, and to the US economy, its biggest trading partner.
On Xellion's MT5 platform USDCAD is traded as a CFD, so you can go long or short without exchanging either currency. One standard lot is 100,000 US dollars, and one pip is 0.0001.
