About US Dollar / Turkish Lira
USD/TRY is the exchange rate between the US dollar and the Turkish lira. The price shows how many Turkish lira one US dollar buys: when USDTRY rises, the US dollar is strengthening against the Turkish lira; when it falls, it is weakening.
USD/TRY is an exotic pair, combining a major currency with an emerging or smaller-market currency, so it usually trades with less liquidity and wider spreads than the majors and can move sharply around local news. The US dollar is the world's main reserve currency and sits on one side of most foreign-exchange trades. The Turkish lira is a high-volatility emerging-market currency that has historically reacted strongly to inflation and changes in monetary policy.
On Xellion's MT5 platform USDTRY is traded as a CFD, so you can go long or short without exchanging either currency. One standard lot is 100,000 US dollars; the pip size and value are shown in the MT5 contract specification.

USDTRY questions
What does the USDTRY price mean?
It is the number of Turkish lira needed to buy one US dollar. A rising price means the US dollar is gaining against the Turkish lira; a falling price means it is losing ground.
When is USDTRY most active?
USDTRY trades around the clock on weekdays, but it is usually busiest during the London and New York sessions, and especially in the hours when the two sessions overlap. The forex market hours tool shows those sessions in your local time.
How much is one pip worth on USDTRY?
Pip value on USDTRY depends on the pip size in the MT5 contract specification and on the Turkish lira exchange rate against your account currency. Because Turkish lira are converted into your account currency, the value per pip changes as that rate moves.
How much margin do I need for one lot of USDTRY?
Margin is the position value divided by your leverage. One lot is 100,000 US dollars, so at 1:500 you need 200 USD and at 1:100 you need 1,000 USD, converted into your account currency. Leverage up to 1:2000 is available depending on your account; the margin calculator gives the exact figure.
