About US Dollar / Malaysian Ringgit
USD/MYR is the exchange rate between the US dollar and the Malaysian ringgit. The price shows how many Malaysian ringgit one US dollar buys: when USDMYR rises, the US dollar is strengthening against the Malaysian ringgit; when it falls, it is weakening.
USD/MYR is an exotic pair, combining a major currency with an emerging or smaller-market currency, so it usually trades with less liquidity and wider spreads than the majors and can move sharply around local news. The US dollar is the world's main reserve currency and sits on one side of most foreign-exchange trades. The Malaysian ringgit is linked to Malaysia's exports of electronics, palm oil and energy.
Where offered on Xellion's MT5 platform, USDMYR is traded as a CFD, so you can go long or short without exchanging either currency. One standard lot is 100,000 US dollars; the pip size and value are shown in the MT5 contract specification.
