About US Dollar / South Korean Won
USD/KRW is the exchange rate between the US dollar and the South Korean won. The price shows how many South Korean won one US dollar buys: when USDKRW rises, the US dollar is strengthening against the South Korean won; when it falls, it is weakening.
USD/KRW is an exotic pair, combining a major currency with an emerging or smaller-market currency, so it usually trades with less liquidity and wider spreads than the majors and can move sharply around local news. The US dollar is the world's main reserve currency and sits on one side of most foreign-exchange trades. The South Korean won is closely linked to exports of semiconductors, cars and ships, and to global technology demand.
Where offered on Xellion's MT5 platform, USDKRW is traded as a CFD, so you can go long or short without exchanging either currency. One standard lot is 100,000 US dollars; the pip size and value are shown in the MT5 contract specification.
