About British Pound / Australian Dollar
GBP/AUD is the exchange rate between the British pound and the Australian dollar. The price shows how many Australian dollars one British pound buys: when GBPAUD rises, the British pound is strengthening against the Australian dollar; when it falls, it is weakening.
GBP/AUD is a cross pair: neither side is the US dollar, so its price reflects the balance between the United Kingdom and Australia directly. The British pound is one of the oldest currencies still in use and is traded heavily in London, the largest forex centre. The Australian dollar is closely linked to commodity exports such as iron ore and to demand from China, Australia's largest trading partner.
On Xellion's MT5 platform GBPAUD is traded as a CFD, so you can go long or short without exchanging either currency. One standard lot is 100,000 British pounds, and one pip is 0.0001.
