About Japan 225 (Nikkei 225)
The Nikkei 225, traded as JPN225, tracks 225 leading companies listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, including major names in technology, cars, retail and industry. It is Japan's most widely quoted stock index.
Like the Dow, the Nikkei is price-weighted, so companies with higher share prices have more influence. Many of its members are exporters, which makes the index sensitive to the yen: a weaker yen tends to support it, while a stronger yen can weigh on it.
On Xellion's MT5 platform JPN225 is traded as an index CFD, so you can trade Japan's market in either direction with one position.

JPN225 questions
Why does a weaker yen often lift the Nikkei?
Many Nikkei companies earn heavily abroad. A weaker yen makes their products more competitive and increases the yen value of foreign profits.
What does price-weighted mean for the Nikkei?
Companies count according to their share price rather than their market value, so a few high-priced stocks can have a big effect on the index.
When is JPN225 most active?
The CFD trades nearly 24 hours on weekdays, with the most activity during the Tokyo Stock Exchange session, 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Japan time.
What is one point of JPN225 worth?
The contract size is 1, so each one-point move changes the value of one lot by one unit of the contract's quote currency, as shown in the MT5 contract specification.
