ABOUT

About Wall Street 30 (Dow Jones)

The Dow Jones Industrial Average, traded as US30, tracks 30 large, well-known US companies across sectors such as finance, healthcare, technology and industry. It is one of the oldest stock market indices in the world.

Unlike most indices, the Dow is price-weighted, so companies with higher share prices have more influence on its moves regardless of their overall size. It is closely watched as a barometer of US blue-chip stocks.

On Xellion's MT5 platform US30 is traded as an index CFD, letting you trade the whole basket in either direction with one position.

FAQ

US30 questions

What does price-weighted mean?

In a price-weighted index, each company counts according to its share price rather than its market value. A $1 move in a high-priced stock affects the Dow as much as a $1 move in a low-priced one.

What is one point of US30 worth on one lot?

The contract size is 1, so each one-point move in US30 changes the value of one lot by $1.

When is US30 most active?

The CFD trades nearly 24 hours on weekdays, but the busiest period is the US cash session, 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. New York time.

Do I own shares when I trade US30?

No. An index CFD tracks the index level, so you don't own the underlying shares or receive voting rights. Dividend adjustments may apply to open positions.
