About Gasoline (RBOB)
Gasoline (RBOB) is an energy benchmark for reformulated gasoline blendstock for oxygenate blending, a refined petroleum product intended for blending with oxygenates such as ethanol. Its benchmark price is conventionally quoted in US dollars per gallon. It reflects wholesale blendstock values rather than the retail price motorists pay at filling stations.
Unlike crude oil, RBOB sits further along the refining chain, so its price reflects both feedstock costs and conditions in fuel production and distribution. Refinery maintenance, unexpected outages, storage availability and seasonal fuel requirements can affect supply. Driving activity and changes in petrol consumption also help distinguish its market behaviour from other energy products.
On Xellion's MT5 platform, Gasoline (GASOLINE) is traded as a CFD, allowing a position to be long or short without owning the underlying asset or taking physical delivery. Trading is available nearly around the clock from Monday to Friday, with a short daily break. Leverage magnifies both gains and losses.

GASOLINE questions
What does RBOB mean in the gasoline market?
RBOB stands for reformulated gasoline blendstock for oxygenate blending. It is a petroleum blendstock designed to be mixed with oxygenates, commonly ethanol, to produce finished gasoline. Its wholesale benchmark is distinct from pump prices, which also include taxes and distribution costs.
Why can RBOB gasoline prices move differently from crude oil?
Crude oil is a feedstock, while RBOB is a refined product. Refinery capacity, outages, fuel inventories and seasonal consumption can change the balance of gasoline supply and demand independently of crude oil, causing their prices to behave differently.
What are the trading hours for Gasoline on Xellion?
Gasoline trading is available nearly around the clock, Monday to Friday, with a short daily break. The break interrupts continuous dealing, and prices can differ when trading resumes. The instrument's session details are available within Xellion's MT5 platform.
Does trading GASOLINE on Xellion involve owning physical fuel?
No. GASOLINE is traded as a CFD on Xellion's MT5 platform. A position can be long or short without ownership of physical gasoline, storage arrangements or delivery. Profit or loss reflects price movements and applicable trading costs.
