About Brent Crude Oil
Brent crude is the leading international oil benchmark, quoted in US dollars per barrel. It is named after a North Sea oil field and is used to price much of the world's internationally traded crude.
Because it is a global reference, Brent is especially sensitive to events in the Middle East, Russia and other export regions, as well as to shipping routes and demand from large importers in Asia and Europe.
On Xellion's MT5 platform Brent is traded as a CFD. One lot is 1,000 barrels, and you can go long or short without handling physical oil.
What moves the price

UKOIL questions
Why do Brent and WTI prices differ?
They are different grades produced in different places, with different transport costs and buyers. The difference between them, called the Brent–WTI spread, changes with local supply, pipeline capacity and global demand.
What is OPEC+?
OPEC+ is a group of oil-producing countries, made up of OPEC members and allies such as Russia, that coordinate production targets. Their decisions on output are a major influence on oil prices.
What does a $1 move in Brent mean for one lot?
One lot is 1,000 barrels, so a $1 move changes the value of one lot by $1,000. On 0.01 lots the same move is worth $10.
When is Brent most active?
Brent trades nearly 24 hours on weekdays, with the busiest periods usually during the London and New York sessions.
