TRADING GLOSSARY
Hanging man
A hanging man is a candlestick that appears after an advance, with a small body near the top of its range and a long lower shadow. Its shape resembles a hammer, but its location suggests possible weakness after a rally rather than a bullish reversal.
EXAMPLE
In a hypothetical uptrend, a session includes a deep sell-off followed by recovery near the high, creating a hanging man without proving a reversal.
