Price action
Price action is the movement of market prices over time and an approach to analysing that movement directly. Traders examine features such as highs, lows, candlesticks and support or resistance, sometimes with few indicators; interpretations remain subjective and patterns can fail.
On a hypothetical chart, price repeatedly approaches an earlier high and retreats. A price-action analysis identifies possible resistance without assuming the next approach will fail.
