Flag
A flag is a short consolidation within roughly parallel boundaries after a sharp price move, often called the flagpole. The consolidation usually slopes against the preceding move or runs sideways, and is commonly interpreted as a potential continuation pattern rather than a guaranteed outcome.
In a hypothetical chart, a sharp rally is followed by a small downward-sloping channel, then price moves above that channel.
