TRADING GLOSSARY
Fill-or-kill order
A fill-or-kill order must execute immediately for its entire requested quantity at an acceptable price, or be cancelled completely. It does not allow partial execution or leave an unfilled balance waiting in the market.
EXAMPLE
In a hypothetical example, an order requests 100 units at a limit price. Only 80 are immediately available at acceptable prices, so the entire order is cancelled.
