TRADING GLOSSARY
Direct market access
Direct market access, or DMA, allows a client to submit orders to a trading venue's order book through an intermediary's infrastructure. Access remains subject to permissions, risk checks, and venue rules; it does not eliminate the intermediary.
EXAMPLE
In an illustrative DMA arrangement, a trader submits a limit buy order through a broker. After automated checks, it enters an exchange's order book.
