TRADING GLOSSARY
Delivery month
The delivery month is the calendar month designated by a futures contract for delivery of the underlying asset. Contract rules specify the actual delivery window and procedures, so the month label does not necessarily identify a single delivery date.
EXAMPLE
In a hypothetical example, a wheat futures contract labelled September has a delivery window governed by exchange rules, rather than delivery on any chosen day.
