To withdraw money from a forex account in India, verify your account, open Withdraw in your broker's client area or app, enter the amount and send it to a bank account in your own name. Most brokers pay out by the same method you deposited with. UPI is usually a deposit-only route, so money you paid in by UPI normally comes back by bank transfer.
This guide walks through each step, the payout times and minimums, the documents you need before your first withdrawal, and the most common reasons a withdrawal gets held up. Every Xellion fact below comes from our funding page and FAQ (checked 3 November 2026). For any other broker, check its own funding page, because methods and times change often.
How do you withdraw from a forex account in India?
You request the withdrawal in the client area, not inside MetaTrader 5. On Xellion, the process takes five steps:
- Verify your account first. Upload a government-issued photo ID and a recent proof of address. Every client is verified before funding, and documents are usually checked within 2 business days.
- Log in to the Xellion app or client area and tap Withdraw. MT5 is where you trade; money moves in the client area. New to MT5? See our MT5 download and login guide.
- Enter the amount (from $10) and choose the method: bank wire or crypto.
- Add your bank details or wallet address. Withdrawals go only to accounts in your own name, and back to the same account you deposited from.
- Confirm the request. Once it is processed, the funds are sent to your bank account or wallet.
Before you press confirm, check the account holder name and account number letter by letter. A typo is the easiest delay to avoid.
Can you withdraw from a forex account by UPI?
Usually not directly. On Xellion, UPI is an instant deposit method, and money you deposited by UPI is paid out by bank transfer to a bank account in your own name. The same rule applies to any method that can take payments but can't receive payouts.
| If you deposited with | Deposit minimum | You withdraw by | Typical payout time |
|---|---|---|---|
| UPI | $50 | Bank transfer to your own bank account | About 15–20 minutes |
| Bank / wire transfer | $100 | Bank transfer to the same account | About 15–20 minutes |
| Crypto (USDT, BTC, ETH) | $10 | Crypto to your own wallet | Instant |
So if you fund by UPI, keep a bank account open in the same name as your Xellion account: that is where your withdrawals arrive.
How long does a forex withdrawal take in India?
It depends on two stages: the broker processing your request, and your bank or the blockchain crediting it. Xellion lists bank withdrawals at about 15–20 minutes and crypto withdrawals as instant.
| Withdrawal method | Minimum withdrawal | Typical time |
|---|---|---|
| Bank wire | $10 | About 15–20 minutes |
| Crypto | $10 | Instant |
Times are estimates and depend on the payment provider. Your own bank may take longer to show the credit, especially on bank holidays, and crypto transfers still need network confirmations before your wallet shows them.
What do you need before your first withdrawal?
Most delays come from something missing before the request. Run through this checklist:
| Check | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Identity verified (photo ID and proof of address) | Your account is verified before your first withdrawal |
| Bank account in your own name | Third-party withdrawals are not allowed |
| Same method and account you deposited from | Withdrawals go back to the same source and name |
| Enough free margin if you have open trades | Money backing open positions can't be withdrawn safely |
| Extra documents ready for larger amounts | Enhanced checks apply above $5,000 in total deposits |
Those enhanced checks can include bank references, certified documents or a video call. They are part of Xellion's AML and KYC policy, which applies to every client.
Why is my forex withdrawal pending or delayed?
A pending withdrawal usually means a check is waiting on you or on the bank. The most common reasons are:
- Verification isn't finished – a missing or expired document, or a proof of address that doesn't match your account details.
- The name doesn't match – the bank account or wallet belongs to someone else, even a family member.
- A different method or account – the request goes somewhere other than the account you deposited from.
- Wrong bank details – a mistyped account number or IFSC code.
- Extra checks on a larger amount – the enhanced checks described above.
- Bank-side timing – weekends and bank holidays can slow the final credit.
If a withdrawal is taking longer than the listed time, contact Xellion support by live chat or at support@xellion.com with the amount and the date of the request.
Can you withdraw while you have open trades?
Yes, but only from money that isn't holding your positions open. That money is your free margin: equity minus the margin already in use.
Withdrawing reduces your equity, so your margin level falls. If it falls far enough, positions can reach a margin call or be closed automatically. Before withdrawing with trades open, check how much margin they use with the margin calculator. Higher leverage magnifies losses as well as gains, so the less margin your open trades need, the less a withdrawal affects them. See the glossary entry on a withdrawal for how balance and open positions interact.
Are there fees on forex withdrawals?
Xellion charges no currency conversion fees. Your bank or payment provider may charge its own fees, which you pay, so check your bank's charges for incoming transfers.
Keep a record of every deposit and withdrawal. Tax treatment depends on your own circumstances, so ask a chartered accountant how to report trading income.
Test your withdrawal before you trade bigger
The best way to know how a broker pays out is to try it with a small amount:
- Verify your account as soon as you sign up.
- Make a small first deposit that meets your account's minimum ($50 for Standard).
- Request a small withdrawal and note how long it takes to reach your bank.
- Only then add more, once you know the route works end to end.
