About Solana
Solana is a blockchain designed for fast, low-cost transactions, and SOL is its native token, used for fees and staking. It launched in 2020 and is used for decentralised finance, NFTs, payments and consumer apps.
Solana combines proof of stake with a timing system called proof of history to process many transactions quickly. Its price tends to react strongly to activity on the network, new projects and shifts in crypto sentiment, and it has historically been more volatile than Bitcoin.
On Xellion's MT5 platform SOL is traded as a CFD quoted in US dollars, so you can take a view in either direction without holding the token.

SOLUSD questions
What is SOL used for?
SOL pays transaction fees on the Solana network and can be staked to help secure it. It is also widely used in apps built on Solana.
Why does Solana move more than Bitcoin?
Solana is a smaller market than Bitcoin and is closely tied to activity on its own network, so changes in sentiment or news can lead to larger moves in both directions.
Can I trade Solana at weekends?
The SOLUSD CFD is available 7 days a week outside platform maintenance windows. The exact schedule is in the MT5 contract specification.
Do I own SOL when I trade a CFD?
No. A CFD tracks the price without giving you the token, so there is no wallet to manage, and you can open short positions too.
Risk warning: CFDs are complex instruments and come with a high risk of losing money rapidly due to leverage.
