TRADING GLOSSARY
Pullback
A pullback is a temporary move against the direction of an established trend, such as a decline within an upward trend. Whether it is temporary or the beginning of a reversal cannot be known with certainty while it is developing.
EXAMPLE
In a hypothetical example, price rises from 100 to 120, retreats to 115, then resumes climbing; the retreat is described as a pullback.
