TRADING GLOSSARY
Price improvement
Price improvement occurs when an order executes at a more favourable price than its specified or reference price. For a buyer, this means a lower price; for a seller, a higher price. It is possible under some execution arrangements but is not guaranteed.
EXAMPLE
In a hypothetical example, a buy limit set at $100 executes at $99.80. The execution price is $0.20 per unit better than the limit.
