Kelly criterion
The Kelly criterion is a mathematical method for determining the fraction of capital to stake to maximise expected long-term logarithmic wealth growth, given assumed probabilities and payoffs. Its results are highly sensitive to estimation errors and can involve substantial drawdowns; it does not guarantee profits.
In a hypothetical even-money wager with a 55% win probability and 45% loss probability, the basic Kelly fraction is 10% of capital.
