Inverted hammer
An inverted hammer is a candlestick with a small body near the bottom of its range, a long upper shadow, and little or no lower shadow. After a decline, it may suggest weakening selling pressure, but it does not establish that a reversal will follow.
In a hypothetical chart, price declines before forming a small-bodied candle with a long upper shadow. The next candle falls, showing that the pattern did not produce a reversal.
