Earnings report
An earnings report presents a company's financial performance for a reporting period, typically including revenue, profit and earnings per share. It may also include management commentary and forecasts, with publication frequency and required disclosures varying by market.
In a hypothetical quarterly report, a company records higher revenue but lower profit because costs increased; its share price may react to these results.
