TRADING GLOSSARY
Double top
A double top is a chart pattern in which price reaches two similar highs separated by a decline, usually after an upward trend. A subsequent break below the intervening low is commonly interpreted as a possible bearish reversal, though the pattern can fail.
EXAMPLE
In a hypothetical example, price peaks at 100, retreats to 92, revisits 100 and then falls below 92, completing a double-top pattern.
