TRADING GLOSSARY
Day order
A day order remains valid only for the trading day or session defined by the venue or platform. Any unfilled quantity expires at that cutoff, which may differ from midnight in the trader's local time.
EXAMPLE
In a hypothetical scenario, a day limit order remains unfilled when the venue's session ends. It expires instead of carrying into the next trading session.
