Central bank
A central bank is a public institution responsible for monetary policy within a country or currency area. Depending on its mandate, it may also issue currency, manage reserves, support payment systems, supervise banks and provide emergency liquidity.
In a hypothetical inflation report, price pressures remain persistent. The central bank reviews the evidence before deciding whether to change its policy interest rate.
