Anti-money laundering
Anti-money laundering (AML) refers to laws, controls and procedures intended to prevent and detect the movement or concealment of criminal proceeds through the financial system. Financial firms may verify customers, monitor transactions and report suspicious activity as required by applicable rules.
For example, an unusual pattern of incoming transfers may prompt a financial firm to request supporting documents and review the transactions.
