TRADING GLOSSARY
Stop out
A stop out happens when your margin level falls to the broker's stop-out level and open positions are closed automatically, starting with the largest loss, to stop further losses.
EXAMPLE
A trader ignores a margin call; losses continue, the stop-out level is reached and the platform closes the losing position.
