Pivot points
Pivot points are calculated reference levels used to outline potential support and resistance for a subsequent period. The classic central pivot averages the previous period's high, low, and close, with additional levels derived from those values. Other formulas exist, and price need not react at any level.
With a hypothetical previous high of 110, low of 100, and close of 105, the classic pivot is 105. First resistance is 110 and first support is 100.
