TRADING GLOSSARY
Custom indicator
A custom indicator is a user-created or third-party analytical tool that calculates and displays information from price or other market data. In MetaTrader, it may show chart lines, symbols or alerts, but it does not itself execute trades.
EXAMPLE
In an illustrative scenario, a custom indicator colours chart bars when volatility rises above its programmed threshold, without opening or closing any positions.
